John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

Are we a Royal Priest hood, and descendants of Abraham?

Are we a Royal Priest hood, and descendants of Abraham?

I have the understanding that we are both, a royal Priest hood and we are descendants of Abraham by faith. Many of us don´t think that we are a royal priest… and we do not think of ourselves as a descendant of the Abraham, who is described in the Bible as the Father of the nation of Israel.

However, the Bible makes it clear that God told Abraham that many would be blessed through him, many nations… That is, where the salvation in Jesus Christ comes in, to bring all of us together as one.
Can you imagine boasting something like this: ‘Well, my great-grandfather  was Abraham and he was God’s friend you know? God reminds Jacob that he is a descendant of Abraham, God’s Friend. Let’s read this in Isaiah 41:8 "But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend.
God reminds us in the New Testament that we are descendants of Abraham as well.
Galatians 3:6-9 “6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.”

Hebrews 4:14-16  (NIV) “Jesus the Great High Priest’
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[a] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”
